The Adelaide Oval was first opened in 1871, known as the most beautiful cricket ground in the world. The first Test march was played in 1884 between Australia and England. The first ODI match was played in 1975 between Australia and the West Indies. The first T20I was played between Australia and England in 2011. The current Adelaide Oval scoreboard opened in 1911. In 1997 lights were constructed to allow cricket and football to be played at night. For many years Australian football was played at Football Park and the Adelaide Oval facilities aged. In 2011 the South Australian Government and the Australian Federal Government, the AFL, the SANFL, and SACA agree to upgrade the Adelaide Oval. The entire stadium has been redeveloped except the Northern Mound. The Adelaide Oval was completed in time for the 2014 AFL season and both the Adelaide Crows and Port Adelaide have hosted their home matches since.
