The Docklands Stadium was first opened in 2000 as Colonial Stadium It has since been known as Telstra Dome, Etihad Stadium and now Marvel Stadium. Originally built as a replacement for Waverley Park, the AFL tenant clubs are North Melbourne, St Kilda, Western Bulldogs, Essendon and Carlton, with Melbourne Renegades hosting Big Bash matches as well. It is the second largest stadium in Melbourne and has hosted AFL, cricket, rugby union, rugby league, soccer and concerts. When it was completed Marvel Stadium was the largest stadium in the world with a retractable roof. The biggest AFL moment at the stadium was when Lance Franklin kicked his 100th goal in the season in 2008. Marvel has hosted Bledisloe Cup matches, State of Origin and World Cup Rugby Union matches. The largest crowd being at UFC 243.
